MONTEVALLO – A Student Mock
Election Convention at the American Village will be held on July 12th
and 13th. Students in grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 as of the fall 2016
school year in public, private, parochial or home schools will participate.
Students and teachers will leave with ideas and materials to carry back to
their schools on how to hold a successful convention and mock election. The
mock election will be held on October 25, 2016.
On Tuesday, July 12th,
Secretary of State John Merrill, as well as Representative Jack Williams (R-Vestavia
Hills) will deliver remarks. On Wednesday, July 13th, Representative
Arnold Mooney (R-Shelby County) and Representative Matt Fridy (R-Montevallo) will
deliver remarks.
